Universal Life Church ministries have ordained over 20 million ministers throughout the world. It has been said, “The sun never sets on the Universal Life Church" and its independent churches throughout the world. We embrace individuals from all faiths and backgrounds, religious and non-religious alike. We recognize Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, Druids, Catholics, Hindu, Pagans, and believers in eternal human progression.

The Universal Life Church Monastery has two tenets which guide our organization;

  • i.    To ensure for each of our ordained ministers the absolute right of freedom to practice their religion in the manner of their choosing, as mandated by the First Amendment and;
  • ii.    To encourage our newly ordained ministers to do that which is right and in accord with their government’s laws.

The ULC Monastery welcomes all to become ordained, accepting the honorable role of a minister, priest, rabbi or any suitable clergy title that enables you to preach, teach and practice your religious faith and spirituality without question or unlawful restrictions.  This website is operated by The ULC Monastery and dedicated to Universal Life Church Wisconsin Ministries. Post your comments and visit our official ULC Minister Directory to post your minister profile information so that you too can provide ministerial services for sponsorships, weddings, funerals, baptisms and even exorcisms.

Universal Life Church History

The Universal Life Church was founded by the late Reverend Hensley six decades ago and has grown to have ordained over 20 million ministers throughout the world. The Monastery, which is the largest congregation of ULC churches began as a brick and mortar church in 1977 under the faithful devotion and guidance of Reverend G. Martin Freeman,  whose committment and dedication to "doing that which is right" allowed not only the general public sanctuary; but disenfranchised refugees and homeless people of all ages, color and race as well to have a place to be somebody.

In 1999, Reverends G. Martin Freeman, Daniel Chapin and Brother Daniel Zimmerman founded the online presence of The Universal Life Church Monastery, which has grown to have a world wide congregation which continues to carry the torch and message of religious tolerance that the founding church advocated.  The Monastery continues to secure the rights of ULC ministers worldwide, flourishing and prospering under the continued guidance of Br. Martin. We recognize that the laws of Wisconsin need to be revised to reach that milestone, wherein we are all equally protected under the First Amendment and judged not by state authorities who interpret religious law; but state authorities who recognize the distinct separation of the First Amendments instruction that Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
We look forward from hearing from each of you, enabling you and wishing you the best as a newly ordained ULC minister in Wisconsin.
